A Co-operative is an autonomous of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs and aspirations through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise.
Co-operatives are based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity and solidarity. In the tradition of their founders, Co-operative members believe in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social responsibilities and caring for others.
The Co-operative principles are guidelines by which Co-operatives put their values into practice.


The Management of Odisha Fisheries Cooperative Corporation Ltd,(FISHFED) constitutes with 14 Board of Directors out of 21 nos of Directors. The President is elected from among the members of the Board of Directors. The Managing Director is appointed by the Government of Odisha, Fisheries & ARD Deptt, to act as the Chief Executive and the services of Managing Director are under the control of President/ Board of Directors of the Organisation as per the OCS Act. The Services of the President/Vice-President/ Board of Director are Honorary.
